Freezing of sperm and their storage
Sperm freezing (cryopreservation) is used in patients before cancer treatment (threat of damage to the seminiferous tubules during chemotherapy and radiotherapy). Also, sperm freezing is suitable before infertility treatment, especially with very poor semen analysis parameters and in the oocyte donation program. Depending on the parameters of the semen analysis, a dose of sperm after thawing can be either used for intrauterine insemination, where the insemination dose should contain at least 15 million sperms, in case of worse semen analysis parameters IVF or IVF-ICSI methods can be applied for egg fertilization.
