Oocyte retrieval and freezing for 1 year with indication by a specialist
It is a method of oocyte (egg) freezing, which is performed in women before oncological treatment or before other treatment that may damage the ovaries. It is also possible to freeze eggs in women who do not currently have the opportunity to get pregnant, but whose ovarian reserve is reduced and they are at risk of ovarian failure in the future. Freezing of eggs is preceded by hormonal stimulation of the ovaries, which takes approximately 12 days. The retrieval of mature eggs is performed under general anesthesia and the retrieved eggs are immediately frozen and stored in liquid nitrogen. Cryopreservation is performed by vitrification, ultra-fast freezing of eggs in special straws. The price of the cycle includes monitoring of follicle growth, timing of egg retrieval and eggs retrieval under general anesthesia. Freezing of the eggs itself is not included in the price.
