Inducing ovulation

Under normal circumstances, ovulation, i.e. the release of a mature egg from the ovary, is a regular and spontaneous process. However, if the egg is not released from the ovary, the woman cannot become pregnant. Inducing ovulation is therefore one of the ways that may help you get pregnant.

Ovulation is induced (stimulated) by preparations that ensure the growth of the follicle in which the egg matures. You can try to get pregnant at home, ideally before ovulation. Induction of ovulation may be associated with intrauterine insemination (IUI).

Average success rate of the procedure: We manage to induce ovulation in up to 90% of women who do not spontaneously ovulate. However, the chances of getting pregnant depend on other factors.

When is the procedure recommended? Induction of ovulation is indicated in women who do not spontaneously ovulate and in whom no other infertility factor is anticipated.
